Dorin Goian

Dorin Goian Nicolae ( born December 12, 1980 in Suceava, Suceava County ) is a Romanian football player. The center-back has since August 2013 the Greek first division club Asteras Tripolis under contract.

Career

Association

With 17 years Goian was Foresta Fălticeni (later Foresta Suceava ), a small club from near Suceava obliged, in which he was to play in the second team. Two years later he was brought into the first team and borrowed in 2000 a few months to Gloria Buzău. After his return, he plays in Divizia A and B. Divizia

In 2003 he moved to FCM Bacau, for whose team Goian completed a season. He played 26 games and scored two goals. During this time he was appointed for the first time in the Romanian national team.

In August 2004, Goian moved to Steaua Bucharest, where he signed a five -year contract. His first goal for this team, he scored in the UEFA Cup against Vålerenga IF. In this competition, he scored more goals against RC Lens, Halmstad BK, SC Heerenveen and FC Middlesbrough and was so defensive player as the top scorer of his team.

In August 2009, he signed with the Italian first division side U.S. Palermo a four-year contract. There he reached the final of the Coppa Italia in 2011, but it lost to Inter Milan.

In summer 2011, Goian moved to Scotland at the Glasgow Rangers and signed a three year contract there. In 2012, the Rangers were transferred to the Scottish Football League Third Division. Goian was then hired for a year at the Italian second division Spezia Calcio. After his return he left in August 2013 Scotland and joined the Greek first division club Asteras Tripolis.

National

His first game in the national team Goian completed on 16 November 2005 against Nigeria. He was able to qualify with Romania for the European Football Championship in 2008 and was called up for the tournament in the squad. In the group stage, he ran on in two games for the Romanians, but could not prevent the Vorrundenaus.

Goian is married and has one daughter. His brother Lucian Goian ( b. 1983 ) is also football player, he plays for Astra Ploieşti.
