Dorina Vaccaroni

Dorina Vaccaroni (born 24 September 1963 Lido di Venezia) is a former Italian foil fencer, who belonged to the world class for over ten years and has won gold medals at all major championships.

Career

Dorina Vaccaroni was already youth world champion when she first participated in the Olympics at the age of 16 years. A year later, she won her first medals at the European Championships and the World Cup. In 1982, she won the European Championship in Mödling. At the World Championships in Rome, she only lost in the final Naila Giliasowa from the Soviet Union; together with Carola Cicconetti, Anna Rita Sparaciari, Clara Mocchi she won the title in the team standings, the first title for the Italian Squadra after 25 years.
