Dorino Serafini

Teodoro " Dorino " Serafini ( born July 22, 1909 in Pesaro, † July 5, 2000 ) was an Italian automobile and motorcycle racer.

Dorino Serafini was a famous motorcycle racer during the 1930s. He was twice Italian road champion and won in 1939 Gilera Motorcycle Championship in the 500 cc class.

After the Second World War he switched to four wheels and survived in a Maserati in a serious accident at the Grand Prix of Comminges in 1947 just barely.

The end of 1949 he went to Ferrari, where he played sports car race in particular. With the Italian Grand Prix in Monza he drove during the 1950 Formula 1 season, his only scoring for the World Cup race, but ended up at least in second place, after he had been forced to cede to his favored countryman better his car on Alberto Ascari to allow placement. Points were divided in this method.

Severe injuries in another accident at the Mille Miglia in 1951 led to the end of his career.
