Doris Metaxa

Doris Metaxa ( born June 12, 1911 in France, † September 7, 2007 and married Howard) was a French tennis player.

In 1932 she won at Wimbledon along with the Belgian Josane Sigart the women's doubles against the U.S. women Elizabeth Ryan and Helen Jacobs.

Fourteen days after her success, she married the English rugby player, journalist and author Peter Dunsmore Howard (1908-1965), with whom she had three children.

Other successes of the tennis player were in the finals in women's doubles in 1931 and 1935 and in the mixed doubles at Wimbledon in 1934, and won two British tournaments in women's doubles in 1934.
