Dorky Park

Dorky Park is an international dance company based in Berlin. Your artistic director is the Argentinean choreographer Constanza Macras. For the production of MIR 3: Endurance these founded the company in 2002.

Dorky Park consists of a production office and the actual company. Since 2003, the company is working with the dramaturge Carmen Mehnert and creates pieces that dancers, actors and musicians with artists aged between four and 72 years to bring together and combine text, live music, dance and video together.

Productions

In summer 2003, the piece Back to the Present was shown, which was implemented integrated in the abandoned rooms of the department store Jandorf in Berlin -Mitte. The four-hour piece was offered to the public throughout the house, including two bars and a tea room. After the success of site-specific piece Macras designed with Dorky Park in first collaboration with the Schaubühne Place a stage version of the play.

Another project in 2003 was the production of Scratch Neukölln, one of the first productions of the newly founded Hebbel am Ufer. For this piece, the company hired ten children and young people from immigrant families, residing in Berlin- Neukölln. In 2005, together with the Berliner Festspiele and the stage was at Rosa Luxemburg Platz the piece Big in Bombay and the Hebbel am Ufer Sure, Shall We Talk About It? . Also in 2005, No Wonder created in collaboration with Lisi Estaras and the Theater Hebbel am Ufer. 2007 celebrated I'm Not The Only One. Part 1 and 2 Premiere at the Berlin Volksbühne in the Prater.

Also in 2007 was Brick country at the Schaubühne place in co-production with Kampnagel Hamburg, Teatro Comunale di Ferrara, Théâtre de la Place Liège and Le Duo Dijon. In November 2006, " Les Grandes Traversées " Macras and her company invited to their week-long festival one to Bordeaux. In the context of the Carte Blanche à Macras six productions of the company were listed in 10 performances within a week. Following the 2003 resulting Scratch Neukölln worked Dorky Park continues to Hell on Earth, a production with Hebbel am Ufer HAU 1, which had its premiere in April 2008.
