Dormettingen
Dormettingen is a municipality in Zollernalbkreis in Baden- Württemberg, Germany. Apart from the village of the same name belong to the community Dormettingen no other places.

Geography
Dormettingen above the valley of the Schlichem, a right tributary of the Neckar, on the plateau of the Little Heuberg.

History
Dormettingen was first documented in the year 786 Count Gerold, brother of Charlemagne, gave the place Toromoatingen goods to the monastery of St. Gall. In the year 793 the name Tormuotinga and 1056 Dormutingan appeared. Other owners of farms during this period were the monastery of Reichenau, the Monastery of St. Georgen and the monastery Rottenmünster (now St. Vincent de Paul Hospital) in Rottweil. 1806/ 07, the village was the Württemberg Oberamt Balingen and 1810 the top Office Spaichingen assumed. Back to top Rottweil finally came Dormettingen 1842 and the district Balingen in 1938.
1944 sub-camp Natzweiler -Struthof were built as part of the " company desert " to win as part of the backup plan petroleum oil from oil shale (see also KZ Bisingen ). Up to 3,000 prisoners had under catastrophic conditions of forced labor in which many died. A grave with a memorial stone in the local cemetery is reminiscent of an unknown number of vice- perfect concentration camp prisoners.
Since the district reform in 1973 Dormettingen belongs to Zollernalbkreis.
Population Development
Policy
Together with Dautmergen, Dotternhausen, Hausen am Tann, Ratshausen, Schomberg, being, among troughs and rooms under the castle is Dormettingen the Gemeindeverwaltungsverband Upper Schlichemtal.
Mayor
The mayor is elected for a term of eight years. Incumbent is since August 1, 2009 Anton Müller. He replaced Manfred Benckendorf, who was no longer taken up after 16 years for election.
Economy and infrastructure
The public transport is guaranteed by the integrated transport system Neckar -Alb -Donau ( NALDO ). The town is located north of the railway line Balingen- Rottweil. On Sundays and holidays there from the bus stop Dotternhausen - Dormettingen with the Radwandershuttle rail connection via Balingen to Tübingen.
Dormettingen located two kilometers north of State Road 27, which leads to the south directly to Balingen the north and Rottweil.
