Dorna (Kemberg)

Dorna is a district of the city Kemberg in Wittenberg district in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geography and transport

Dorna is located at an altitude of 69 meters below sea level, approximately twelve kilometers south-east of Lutherstadt Wittenberg south of the Elbe. At the site over the federal highway 182 which connects Wittenberg and Torgau leads. South of the village is the Dubin Heath.

History

The place was until 1815 in the Saxon Office Wittenberg and then came to the Prussian province of Saxony. 1513 was the spelling of the place name Dornow. The community Dorna lost on 1 January 2007 by incorporation into the city Kemberg their political independence.
