Dornier Do 317

The Dornier Do 317 was a moderate German bombers. He was a fully re- development of the Do 217 and was taken in 1942 in planning.

Despite their outwardly apparent similarity to the Do 217, very few components of the machine were taken. The purpose of the re-design was to make the hull such that a load 3000-4000 Kilogramm was accommodate in the hold. Options A and B were planned.

The top speed was 585 km / h in 6,000 meters at two used Jumo 222 M with an output of 1,470 kW ( 2,000 hp) and a takeoff weight of 20.15 tons. As a crew of four men were provided.

First flight of the Do 317 was in September 1942 in the testing pattern. 1943 were tested further five machines.

This was followed by the setting of the program. The six machines produced were finally exhausted in the fight Squadron 100. The subsequent project ( the Do 417) did not get beyond the draft stage. Thus, the Do 317 was the last link in Dornier's 17er series.
