Dornod Province
The Dornod Aimag (Mongolian Дорнод Аймаг, Eastern Aimag ) is an aimag ( province ) of Mongolia, located in the extreme east of the country.
History
The aimag was created as part of the administrative reorganization in 1941 under the name Choibalsan, after the communist leader Chorloogiin Choibalsan. The capital which had previously borne the name Bayan Tumen, was also renamed to Choibalsan. Successes in 1963, renamed the aimags to the present name Dornod.
