Dorothy Taubman

Dorothy Taubman ( born August 16, 1917April 3, 2013 ) was an American music educator and founder of the Taubman Institute of New York.

Life and work

She developed the named after her, " Taubman method" ( Taubman approach) for piano. Their approach is based on the analysis of the movements that are required for a virtuoso and musical expression. Their reputation she received in the treatment of injuries that came through playing the piano into being only because of the high cure rate. The method provoked controversy, because through it some principles traditional piano teaching has been questioned with respect to their physiological reasons.
