He presented in his films as a cheeky flapper, repeated in a sailor suit, as a cheeky monkey, which is only tamed by the right man. In these roles, she quickly became popular. Her partner was, among other Ernst Lubitsch.

In 1915 she moved to the Oliver movie, but their roles did not change significantly. End of May 1916 she stood in the theater at Nollendorfplatz as part of a " Dorrit Weixler - Week " for the first time on stage. Before a packed house she collapsed in a skit with dance routine. The reasons heartache or a nervous disorder were conjectured. The shooting of a new film had to be canceled due to poor health. Because of their dependence on morphine, she came a little later in a Sanatorium, where she hanged herself. On December 4, 1916 she was buried in the West Stahnsdorf.

The actress Grete Weixler was her younger sister.
