Dörte Thümmler

Dorte Thümmler ( born October 29, 1971 in Berlin, after marriage Dorte Thümmler - Pawlak ) is a former German gymnast devices. Your home club was the SC Dynamo Berlin.

Dorte Thümmler 1985 was three -time winner at the Spartakiade. In 1987, she occupied at the European Championship third place on the uneven bars behind the Romanian Daniela Silivaş and the Bulgarian Diana Dudewa. At the 1987 World Championships in Rotterdam, she won with the team of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) bronze and finished sixth in the all around. On uneven bars, she won the title together with Daniela Silivaş and was by Karin Janz, Annelore Zinke, Maxi Gnauck and Gabriele ensign the fifth World Champion on the uneven bars from the GDR.

At the 1988 Olympic Games Dorte Thümmler occupied with the East German team to third place and achieved seventh place in the individual standings of the more struggle. She qualified for two apparatus finals: In floor exercise, she took the eighth place on the uneven bars she missed an individual medal in fourth. In the same year she was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in bronze.

At GDR Championships, she won a total of three championships: 1987, she won on uneven bars, 1988, she was on the ground and on the balance beam successfully.
