The Bahnhof Dortmund- Mengede is the station of the district Mengede in Dortmund. It is located on the main line of the former Cologne - Minden railway.

The Mengeder station consists of an area which is used for local passenger and another north-west area which is used for shunting and freight.

In transport are four tracks available. Two tracks are from the Regional-Express RE3 Rhein- Emscher -Express ( Route number 416), the other two tracks are served by the S- Bahn line 2. The platforms are connected by an underground pedestrian tunnel. The walkway tunnel is not yet equipped with elevators, so that people in wheelchairs can use the platforms only with help.

At the station there are 136 park-and -ride parking spaces for cars and 16 bike boxes in the bike and ride concept. An expansion of the capacity of these spaces is planned.

The platform canopy of the station is registered as a historic landmark in the list of monuments of the city of Dortmund.

In the freight and rail yard is mainly handled coal for firing of the nearby power plant Gustav Knepper. Earlier also the coal mine of Adolf von Hanse man was transported.
