Dos de Abril Department

The department Dos de Abril is located in the southwestern province of Chaco in the north- western Argentina and is one of 25 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the Departamento Doce de Octubre, on the east by the department of Mayor Luis Jorge Fontana, on the south by the Departamento Fray Justo Santa María de Oro and to the west by the departments Doce de Octubre and Fray Justo Santa María de Oro.

The capital of the department Dos de Abril is Hermoso Campo. It is 250 kilometers from the provincial capital Resistencia and about 1,100 kilometers from Buenos Aires.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC population rose from 7,435 inhabitants (2001) to 9,251 inhabitants in 2005.
