DOSKEY

DOSKEY.COM is a TSR program that is part of MS - ​​DOS Version 5. It expands the command line interpreter COMMAND.COM to the following additional functions:

  • Once the program is loaded into memory, it remembers the last entered commands and allows you to call them with the arrow keys back and edit.
  • Macros can be created, with which one or more frequently used commands can be grouped together under a single command.
  • Numerous new keys can be used, so delete the entire contents of the Esc command line, F8 examined in the command history after the current input string, and F7 displays the complete command history stored.

The enhanced functionality of DOSKEY.COM was installed from Windows 2000 to the command line interpreter cmd.exe, so that a separate boot into these operating systems is no longer necessary.
