The Jura water correction enabled the expansion of the village in the municipality of flat areas. Jeremias Gotthelf writes in The cheese factory in the Vehfreude, Eugen Rentsch, Erlenbach - Zurich, 1922, pp. 12-13: The speech went more rapidly back and forth, the more glorious the Dotziger, namely underbelly grown, the good people of the tongue solved. [ ... ] The shadow half grown Dotziger had already worked, courage and boldness crawling ( we can not say roared ) by all bones [ ... ]. In the notes of the book, this statement is explained by the acidic Dotziger wine, which grew at the foot of Dotzigenberges and is still growing. The situation is in fact not specially suitable for lack of lake and much fog for viticulture.
