Doubleheader (baseball)

The term originally comes from the Double Header Baseball and referred two consecutive games of the same teams.

Baseball

In baseball, the two encounters are only interrupted by a twenty minute break. In Germany, these are in the 1st Bundesliga for each nine- inning games. In the 2nd Bundesliga, two seven- inning games will be carried out. Again, as always, in baseball, there is not a draw. If there is a tie after the specified number of innings, then renewed for another inning so long ( extra innings ) until one team wins.

While the choice of this form of game design in the USA, the country of origin of modern baseball, more complex reasons, has this in Germany more pragmatic nature. It is a priority to play in a game and arrival as many innings to increase the playing time and thus the level of play in Germany.
