Geography

Doudeville located in 17 kms from the seaside town of Saint -Valery -en- Caux. In the village the highways Rouen Saint -Valery -en- Caux and Dieppe - Le Havre crossing. The municipality is the capital of the canton.

History

In a wooded area as well as in the hamlet Vautuit remains were found, suggesting that Doudeville must have been an important place during the Gallo- Roman period. Since the 19th century the place for the production of linen is known. At that time there were 7,000 to 8,000 employees in the industry.
