Doug Berry (ice hockey)

Doug Berry ( born June 3, 1957 in New Westminster, British Columbia ) is a retired Canadian ice hockey player ( striker ).

Career

Doug Berry began his career in 1975 at the University of Denver, where he was active in the National Collegiate Athletic Association three years. 1977 Links shooter was selected in the NHL Amateur Draft the 38th of the Colorado Rockies. When WHA Draft the same year he chose the Calgary Cowboys than 17. But in 1978 he signed a contract with the Edmonton Oilers in the WHA, who had received the rights to the center - forward of the Cowboys. From 1979 to 1981, he then played two years for the Rockies in the NHL before he first moved to Germany. At the end of the season 1981/82 he played briefly in North America, but returned the following season to return to the Mannheimer ERC back, for whom he played until 1984. After a year in the National League A in Servette Geneva, he moved to season 1985/86 to the Cologne Sharks. In seven years, he won with the KEC three German championships (1986, 1987 and 1988 ) and a runner-up (1991).

Even his three years younger brother Ken played in the NHL and the Hockey League.

Doug Berry is married to a native of Cologne, has two children and lives in White Rock near Vancouver.
