Doug Christie (basketball)

Douglas Dale Christie ( born May 9, 1970 in Seattle, Washington ) is an American professional basketball player.

About the College Pepperdine he came into the NBA and was drawn in the 1992 Draft to 17th place by the club of his hometown, the Seattle SuperSonics. These were trading him but instantly go to the Los Angeles Lakers, where he spent his first two seasons. After 1994/ 95, the Lakers were trading him to New York. There, however, he got under coach Pat Riley very little playing time and the Knicks were trading him to only 36 games in the New York Dress and a half years to Toronto on. There he managed to show his skills and peaked in the period from 1995-99 in Toronto career season - highs in points average ( 16.5 ), steals (2.5 ) and rebounds (5.3 ) and developed to be an excellent substitute players. In 2000, the Raptors were trading him then to the Sacramento Kings.

Thanks to its consistently good defensive performance, he landed in the seasons 2000/ 01 and 2001/ 02 a place in the NBA All-Defensive Second Team. After five successful years with the Kings, with whom he, however, never reached more than the Western Conference Semi-Finals, him were trading this for Cuttino Mobley to Orlando Magic. Due to an ankle injury but he missed the last 24 games of the season and brought it only to below average for him 5.7 points per game for Orlando.

After the 2004/ 05 season he was released from Orlando through the unique Amnesty Clause and as a free agent by the Dallas Mavericks committed, of which he was made redundant after only seven games of the season.

On 31 January 2007 Christie got a ten-day contract with the Los Angeles Clippers. In addition to his Basketballkariere he is busy with his reality show The Christies, in which he appears with his wife Jackie.
