Doug Liman

Doug Liman ( born July 24, 1965 in New York City, New York) is an American film director, film producer and cameraman.

Life

As the son of Arthur L. Liman, one of the prosecutors in the Iran - Contra affair, Liman was fascinated early on by conspiracy and political intrigue. A friend of his father inspired him to film cameras and he began even to make short films. He took his degree in 1988 from Brown University and attended in connection to 1992, the USC School of Cinema-Television. After that, he was active in Hollywood as a director, his greatest successes were the surprise hit Swingers and the acclaimed spy thriller The Bourne Identity (2002) with Matt Damon and Franka Potente.

Then Liman produced the successful television series The OC. In 2005, he turned the action film Mr. & Mrs. Smith. After again in an action film directed by Jumper ( 2008), followed by 2010 Fair Game - Nothing is more dangerous than the truth, in which he took the Valerie Plame affair. For this film, Liman received an invitation to compete in the 63rd Film Festival of Cannes.

Liman now lives in Tribeca, Manhattan. Doug Liman is the cousin of director John Hamburg.
