Doug Lynch (ice hockey)

Douglas Lynch ( born April 4, 1983 in North Vancouver, British Columbia) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is under contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Hockey League since January 2013.

Career

Doug Lynch began his career as a hockey player in Canadian junior Western Hockey League in which he was active for the Red Deer Rebels and Spokane Chiefs 1998-2003. With the Red Deer Rebels of the defenders won in the 2000/ 01 season the first Ed Chynoweth Cup and then the Memorial Cup, for which he had qualified his team as WHL champions. In the next NHL Entry Draft 2001, he was selected in the second round than a total of 43 players from the Edmonton Oilers. However, in his time in the franchise of the Oilers he came to only two appearances in the National Hockey League in the season 2003/04. The remaining second spent the links Sagittarius in their farm team, the Toronto Roadrunners, and then its successor team, the Edmonton Roadrunners of the American Hockey League.

August 2, 2005 Lynch was issued along with Eric Brewer and Jeff Woywitka in exchange for Chris Pronger to the St. Louis Blues. After he then in the following two seasons only for their farm team, the Peoria Rivermen of the AHL and the Alaska Aces of the ECHL, was on the ice, he signed for season 2007/ 08 a contract with EC Red Bull Salzburg of the Austrian Hockey League, with whom he immediately won dienationale championship. After a season in their league rivals Vienna Capitals of Canadians returned to the 2009/10 season to Salzburg.
