Doug Serrurier

Louis Douglas " Doug " Serrurier ( born December 9, 1920 in Germiston, Gauteng, South Africa; † 3 June 2006 in Alberton, Gauteng) was a South African racing driver. 1962 and 1963 he took part in the Formula 1 World Championship.

Life

Doug Serrurier was in the years 1962 to 1965 reported a total of three races in Formula 1 and could rely to qualify for two starts. He drove for his own South African team Otelle Nucci a vehicle type LDS ( LDS are the initials of his full name ). He played his first Formula 1 race at the age of 42 years at the Grand Prix of South Africa in East London in 1962 for his team Otelle Nucci, his second and last start he had ibid in 1963. 1965 he was again for the Grand Prix of reported in South Africa, but could not qualify for the race ( his team Otelle Nucci LDS Climax possessed now over Climax engines).

In 1966 he reached the 3- hour race from Cape Town in a Lola T70 in second place the following year he won the 3 -hour race by Sir Roy Hesketh in a Lola T70. 1969 Serrurier retired from active racing.
