Dougie Hamilton

Dougie Hamilton ( born June 17, 1993 Toronto, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player standing since 2011 with the Boston Bruins in the NHL under contract. His older brother Freddie is also a professional hockey player.

Career

After his time with the St. Catharines Falcons, who grew up in St. Catharines Hamilton was in the OHL Priority Selection selected in 2009 to 27 out of the Niagara IceDogs. In his first year with the IceDogs in the Ontario Hockey League, he was appointed to the Second All- Rookie Team. In the 2010/11 season in which he reached the Eastern Conference finals with his team, he was the top scoring with 58 points scorer defender of his team and the fourth best defender of the OHL. Hamilton was then awarded the Bobby Smith Trophy in 2011 and the CHL Scholastic Player of the Year Award.

NHL Entry Draft 2011 Hamilton was selected ninth by the Boston Bruins. In December 2011, he signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Bruins. In January 2013, he came in a 3-1 win over the New York Rangers to his NHL debut and was available until the end of the season in 49 games for Boston on the ice.
