Douglas Gerald Hurley ( born October 21, 1966 in Endicott / New York) is an American NASA astronaut.

Spaceman activity

On 26 July 2000, Hurley was selected by the space agency NASA and designed for space shuttle pilots.

He was nominated for the crew of mission STS -127. During this flight Japanese modules were brought to the International Space Station ISS. The launch took place on 15 July 2009, the landing on July 31, 2009.

On September 14, 2010 Hurley was nominated as a pilot of the shuttle mission STS -135. The launch took place on 8 July, the landing on 21 July 2011. It was the last space flight of the Space Shuttle program.

Private

Hurley is married to his second wife of astronaut Karen Nyberg and has a son.
