Douglas Gough

Douglas Owen Gough (FRS ) ( born February 8, 1941) is a British astronomer.

Gough studied at the beginning of the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics ( DAMTP ) at the University of Cambridge. He continued his studies at the Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics with John Cox and Carl Hansen at the Goddard Institute for Space Studies from 1967 to 1969 with Alar Toomre. From 1999 to 2004 he was Director of the Institute for Astronomy of the University of Cambridge where he retired in 2008. Gough is a member of the IAU.
