Douglas McGrath

Douglas McGrath (born 1958 ) is an American screenwriter, film director and actor.

Life

McGrath began his career as a script writer for Saturday Night Live in the early 1980s. In 1989, he was on an episode of LA Law - Star lawyers, tricks, processes involved, followed by the screenplays for Born Yesterday is not (1993) and Bullets Over Broadway ( 1994). For the latter he was nominated along with Woody Allen, 1995 for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay. Since the 1990s, McGrath is active in small roles as an actor. He was, inter alia, 1998 seen in Happiness.

In 1996, he was with Emma his debut as a director. It was followed by four more feature films, for which he also wrote the screenplay. An exception to this is I Do not Know - Working Mom ( 2011). With His Way he directed also a documentary for television.
