Douglas Morrow

Douglas Morrow (* September 13, 1913 in Oswego, New York, † September 9, 1994 in Kingston, New York ) was an American actor, screenwriter and film producer who in 1950 won the Oscar for best original story.

Life

Morrow began his career in the film industry in Hollywood in 1944 as an actor in the film Bathing Beauty and played until 1946 in five other films such as The Thin Man Goes Home (1945 ) supporting roles. In 1948, he wrote for the short film Where Will You Hide? the first time a template and then wrote the templates as well as screenplays for more than twenty films and television series.

At the Academy Awards in 1950 he won the Oscar for best original story for The Stratton Story ( 1949) by Sam Wood with James Stewart, June Allyson and Frank Morgan.

Its for the film Beyond all Doubt ( 1956) penned script was used in 2009 for a remake of the substance for the film Beyond a Reasonable Doubt. After 1962 produced by Sun Valley one but unsold pilot film about the manager of a hotel in a ski resort, he produced last 1973, directed by Daniel Mann with Bernie Casey, Bo Svenson and Janet MacLachlan film Maurie, for which he also wrote the screenplay.
