Douglas Reeman

Douglas Reeman (* 1924 in Thames Ditton, Surrey, England) is a British author. He is known for his Seekriegsromane, in particular the series of Richard Bolitho, which he wrote under the pseudonym of Alexander Kent in the period 1968-2005.

Life

1940, at the beginning of World War II Douglas Reeman joined the Navy. After the war, in which he fought as a British officer in the Atlantic and the Mediterranean, he worked in various jobs and began writing in 1958. In 1968 he published his first novel by Richard Bolitho.

The Richard Bolitho Novels

The period in which Richard Bolitho experienced his adventures, extends from 1772, when he started his career as a naval midshipman, until the year 1815, in which he lost his life as an admiral before the waters of Malta.
