Douzy

Douzy is a commune in the Ardennes department in the Champagne- Ardenne Région. It belongs administratively to the district Sedan and Mouzon Canton. The inhabitants call themselves Douzynois.

Geography

The community is located approximately eight kilometers south-east of Sedan. Neighboring municipalities are:

• Francheval in the north,
• Pouru -Saint- Remy in the Northeast,
• Brévilly in the southeast,
• Mairy in the south,
• Remilly- Aillicourt in the southwest,
• Bazeilles in the west and
• Rubécourt et Lamécourt in the northwest.

Douzy is located on the right bank of the river Chiers, which further opens a few kilometers into the Meuse.

Transport links

Douzy is crossed by European Route 44, which leads into this section of Sedan by Montmédy. In parallel, there is also a railway line, which does not stop in Douzy. There is also the small airfield Aerodrome de Sedan- Douzy.

Tourism

In Douzy is since 2000 a large resort. However, the community is primarily used as a starting point for tourists who want to go on holiday in the Ardennes.

Attractions

The Aerodrome is the Musée des Debuts de l' Aviation.
