Dozo

The Dozo are traditional hunters from northern Côte d'Ivoire. They fought during the Civil War from 2002 to 2007 on the side of the rebels and accused of numerous massacres.

The traditional belief in magical skills is widely used in the Dozos.

History

The Dozos took over in 2006, the security tasks in the market of Korhogo.

While the government crisis 2010/2011 members of the Dozo to have murdered 29 March 2011 according to the data of the Opération des Nations Unies en Côte d' Ivoire after the capture of the city Duékoué 230 people. Alassane Ouattara denied that Dozo fight for the Forces Républicaines de Côte d'Ivoire ( FRCI ). With the invasion of the FRCI in Abidjan on March 31, 2011, however, many people with the troops were wearing the typical headdress and the amulets of Dozo.
