DR2

DR2 ( Danmarks Radio 2 ) is a Danish public service television station.

The station began in 1996 as the second public law program in addition to DR1, and was initially only be received via cable and satellite.

This was at the time very controversial, since the transmitter so could not be received by anyone in Denmark, although there were still unused frequencies in terrestrial television. These were, however, required tests for DVB -T. The non- wholly-owned range of the transmitter coupled to its intellectual prestige led to poor ratings, the station has been characterized also titled with the name of "secret channel" what the director lamented. He called the station " my station", with the sense that these stations should be appealing to the individual, not for the whole family as the full program DR1. This distribution problem was terminated on 31 March 2006, when digital broadcasting in Denmark started via DVB -T. The transmitter is very similar to the British broadcaster BBC Four, with its focus lies in the experimental comedy, documentaries and in-depth news program. DR2 has been acclaimed for its high-quality items such as Casper & Mandrilaftalen and Drengene fra Angora. The station also many British crime dramas such as Inspector Morse, Midsomer Murders and Prime Suspect.

Other programs of the transmitter are, inter alia, The Power of Nightmares ( Frygtens policy) or The Great Global Warming Swindle ( Den store logn om global opvarmning ).

The ratings of the station were in the 17.Woche in 2008 at 3.2%.

Every Saturday will be broadcast with subtitles in Danish DR2 grönländischsprachige the newscast Nyheder fra Grønland of KNR. In Germany you can look at them through a web stream.

On March 4, 2013 DR2 has been realigned. Since DR update was closed as an independent TV channel, since the flow content of DR Update largely to the new one DR2, which thus receives a greater importance.
