Technical Illustrator is a professional title and the name of a teaching profession in Austria. In Germany the education profession existed until 30 July 2011. Since August 1, 2011, apprenticeships Technical Systems Designer and Technical product designer replace the old training. Education in Austria

Development of the profession in recent history

Because of technological development in the last 30 years, the profession has changed dramatically. The drawing on the drawing board was almost completely replaced by computer-aided design (CAD).
