Drag is an American film drama from 1929 The screenplay is based on the novel drag. A Comedy by William Dudley Pelley.
Action
Young David Carroll takes over the publication of a newspaper in Vermont. Although he is attracted to the elegant Dot, he married Allie Parker, the daughter of his landlords.
When David has to New York to sell a self-written musical, Allie stays at home because she does not want to leave alone their parents. In New York, David meets again on Dot, which has now become a successful designer. With their influence, it creates David to sell his musical to a producer
Dot and David fall in love. When David makes it clear, however, that he will remain faithful to his wife, she travels to Paris. David convinces Allie to New York to come. But when Allie arrives with her parents, David decides to follow Dot to Paris.
Criticism
Wrote Mordaunt Hall of the New York Times that the film could indeed raise some curiosity, but that the dialogues consistently amateurish, angular and spoke hesitantly.
Awards
In the second Oscar in 1930 Frank Lloyd was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Director.
