Dragana Cvijić

Dragana Cvijić ( Serbian Cyrillic Драгана Цвијић; born 15 March 1990 in Belgrade ) is a Serbian handball player who belonged to the squad of the Serbian national team.

Career

In the club

Dragana Cvijić began in 2000, playing handball at zrk Radnički Obrenovca. The next stop on the circle runner was the Serbian club Red Star Belgrade. After Cvijić aground there in the women's team, she moved in 2009 to the Slovenian first division RK Krim. In their first season in Crimea, she won both the Slovenian Championship and Slovenian Cup. In the following season Cvijić again won the domestic double, but had to pause almost the entire season due to a knee injury. In the summer of 2013 she took the Montenegrin top club zrk Budućnost Podgorica under contract.

In their inaugural season in Podgorica Montenegrin Serb won the championship, the Montenegrin Cup and the EHF Champions League. Afterwards Cvijić injured again hard on the knee and did not return until the second half of the season 2012/13 in the squad of their team back.

In the National Team

Dragana Cvijić initially played for the Serbian junior national team, for which it, inter alia, aground at the U19 European Championship in 2009 in Hungary. With the Serbian national team, she participated in the European Championships 2008 at the age of 18 years. After Cvijić missed several tournaments due to her knee injury, she was once again at the World Championships in 2013 the Serbian squad at a major tournament. There, the Serb won the silver medal and was still elected to the All-Star Team.
