Dragon (rocket)

The Dragon is a two-stage French solid-fuel rocket for high altitude research. As a first stage, an engine Stromboli was used (diameter 56 cm), the burnt 675 kg of fuel in 16 seconds, and thus produced a maximum thrust of 88 kN. The Belier was used as secondary school.

It was thus one of a family of solid-propellant rockets, which consisted of the Belier, the Centaure, the Dragon, the Dauphin and Eridan. Was used the Dragon in different versions 1962-1973.

The payload of 30 and 120 kilograms could then be placed on parabolic flights 390-700 km altitude.
