Dramma giocoso

Dramma giocoso (Italian, funny drama ' ) is in Italy since the second half of the 18th century one of the many possible names for an opera buffa. The term was used regularly by Carlo Goldoni from 1748, indicates a mixture of the staff of opera buffa and opera seria, trying to avoid the contempt of opera buffa, especially in court circles.
