Dražen Ladić

Dražen Ladić ( born January 1, 1963 in Čakovec ) is a former Yugoslav and Croatian national football player and current football coach.

The goalkeeper started his career at NK Varteks Varaždin in 1980 and four years later moved to Dinamo Zagreb. After that, he was loaned for two years at NK Iskra Bugojno and after he returned to Dinamo Zagreb in July 1986, he played there until he his career in May 2000 ended. For Dinamo Zagreb he played a total of 802 games, making record players of the club.

Between 1990 and 2000 Ladić was goalkeeper of the Croatian national team and played for a total of 59 matches. In 1991, he also denied two caps for Yugoslavia. As a goalkeeper of the Croatian national team, he has also been used three times in the European Championships in England in 1996 and seven times in the 1998 World Cup in France. In the 1998 World Cup, he was honored as the third best goalkeeper of the tournament and the Croats then reached the third place. His departure as a professional football player, he celebrated in a friendly against France on 28 May 2000.

August 9, 2006 Ladić was introduced as the new head coach of the Croatian national U21 team. Previously, he was already three years, between 2001 and 2004, Goalkeeping coach of the Croatian national team.
