DRB-HICOM

The DRB - HICOM Bhd. is a Malaysian car maker. It is engaged in the production, assembly and marketing of cars and also in the development of real estate and infrastructure.

The company was formed in 1996 from the merger of HICOM and Diversified Resources Bhd.

DRB - HICOM founded Air Asia, which made huge losses and was sold in February 2001 for a symbolic price of one ringgit. Since then, it grows very quickly as boarding and has been profitable since 2002. In addition, the Group also includes the auto plants Euro Mobil, Isuzu Malaysia, Malaysia Isuzu HICOM and HICOM Automotive Manufacturers (Malaysia), the motorcycle factory HICOM - HONDA Manufacturing and armaments manufacturer DRB - HICOM Defence Technologies ( DEFTECH ).
