DreamWorks Animation

DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. is an American animation studio that mainly produces computer animated films.

The company was created from the animation division of DreamWorks SKG and the companies Pacific Data Images ( PDI). This had produced together from 1997 cartoons and animated films. Once in 2000, DreamWorks SKG had taken over the smaller companies, the business unit DreamWorks Animation to co-ordinate the production of classic as well as computer-generated animation was created.

After the animated films were a great success, the business unit DreamWorks Animation has been removed from the parent company and converted into the listed public company, DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. in October 2004. The company has since worked independent of its former parent company, however, a contract the following 12 films and all appearing by the end of 2010 films from DreamWorks was negotiated, after the DreamWorks SKG supposed to be distributing animation.

After DreamWorks SKG was bought in late 2005 by Paramount Pictures, this took over the distribution of animated films. Even after Paramount had DreamWorks SKG sold again two years later, the contract remained.

DreamWorks Animation has two studios: The " DreamWorks feature animation studio " in Glendale, California, and the former PDI studio in Redwood City, California, in the Silicon Valley region.
