Dreuil-lès-Amiens
Dreuil -lès -Amiens ( Picard: Dréeuil -lès- Anmien ) is a northern French village with 1278 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) by the Somme in the Picardie region. The municipality is located in the arrondissement of Amiens, is part of the Communauté d' agglomà Amiens Métropole, in the canton Amiens -1 ( Ouest ).
Geography
Dreuil located approximately 5.5 km to the west of Amiens and directly at the district Étouvie then on the left ( southern ) bank of the Somme, whose valley is interspersed with ponds, opposite Argoeuves, at the department of road D1235 ( former Route nationale 35). The railway line to Abbeville runs through the community.
History
In Dreuil traces of a Gallo- Roman villa were found. The first mention was the place of homage by the west adjacent Ailly- sur- Somme, in the year 1120. During the French Revolution in 1789, the castle and a salt storage were destroyed. The church, dedicated to St. Riquier was built in 1850. In order they arose farm workers houses.
