Drew Stanton

Drew Stanton ( born May 7, 1984 in Lansing, Michigan) is an American professional American football player at the position of quarterback. He plays for the Indianapolis Colts in the National Football League ( NFL).

Previous years

Stanton played at Michigan State University for the Spartans. The first two years was Stanton backup of Jeff Smoker. In 2005, Stanton was starting quarterback of the Spartans. He was nominated for the Senior Bowl in 2007 and led his team to a 27-0 victory. Stanton was elected Senior Bowl MVP.

Professional career

Stanton went in 2007 in the NFL Draft and was selected by the Detroit Lions in the second round to 43rd. It should be built up slowly behind Jon Kitna and his backup and the future quarterback of the Lions. After Kitnas injury in the 2008 season, Stanton was the backup quarterback for the rest of the season, behind Dan Orlovsky.
