History

On 27 June 1844, Utrecht Driebergen- Zeist section of the railway line Amsterdam - Arnhem was opened, which was commissioned by the Nederlandsche Maatschappij Rhijnspoorweg - commissioned. First, the station was called just " Driebergen ". In 1864, the name " Driebergen- Zeist " was, however, again changed to " Driebergen " in 1904. In 1948 the station re- acquired its current name " Driebergen- Zeist ". The central platform was built in 1854. In 1864, the station received a new station building. In 1962 the station was demolished and replaced by a new building. The signal box was demolished in 1971 in 2004 the platforms were extended to allow longer distance trains stop at the Driebergen- Wedding. Planning on an expansion to four tracks is difficult, since the N225 on both sides of the station runs right next to the tracks, so that when an expansion, the road would have to be one-sided completely misplaced.
