Driss El Himer

Driss El Himer ( born April 4, 1974 in Rabat ) is a French long-distance runner of Moroccan origin.

El Himer joined the Foreign Legion in 1993 and three years later acquired French nationality. The European Athletics Championships 1998 in Budapest, he was seventh and. During the World Athletics Championships 2001 in Edmonton eleventh in the 5000 -meter run

In the same year he won the Amsterdam Marathon in 2:07:02. In 2003 he presented as fourth in the Paris Marathon with 2:06:48 set his personal best on.

At the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 he was eighth in the 10,000 -meter run, the same year he won the Berlin Marathon in sixth place.

El Himer has been six times won three French league titles than 5000 m, four times the 10,000 m and cross-country running. He is a member of the club ASPTT Strasbourg.
