Driving

The driver is the person who directs or controls a vehicle ( bike, car, etc. ). Colloquially we speak mostly by the driver or handlebars. The term of the driver is found, however, more common in legal regulations concerning trafficking law.

The duties of the driver in the event of use on the road are found in Germany in the Road Traffic Act ( Highway Code ), in Austria in the Road Traffic Act ( Austria ). For the admission of persons to road transport is relevant in Germany since 1999, driving Regulation ( FeV ). Before that, there were the § § 1-15 of the Road Traffic Licensing Regulations.

Thus one requires a driver with the driving ability, the ability to drive the vehicle carefully, sober and safe.

The definition of a vehicle driver can relate in some areas on the general line of the vehicle and driving and less on the immediate custody of the vehicle:

  • In shipping, although the captain or skipper is responsible for the navigation, but the wheel, it must not be, he may delegate this task to a steersman or helmsman.
  • According to the German road traffic law is a driving instructor in Germany, the responsible driver, as long as its learner the appropriate driving license does not already own (§ 2 paragraph 15 sentence 2 Road Traffic Act ).
  • In rail transport, the driver in Germany is referred to as a driver. Earlier names are locomotive or train drivers.
