Dröbischau

Dröbischau is a municipality in the district Saalfeld- Rudolstadt ( Thuringia). The municipality belongs to the administrative community median Schwarzatal, which has its administrative headquarters in the municipality seat village.

Geography

Dröbischau situated on a treeless plateau in the northern foothills of the Thuringian Forest Rinnetal between the north and the south Schwarzatal at an altitude of about 600 meters above sea level. NN. West of the town is the 808 meter high Langenberg and east is the 665 meter high Barigauer height.

History

Dröbischau was first mentioned in 1292 as Threbescowe, Egelsdorf 1316 as Egilsdorf. The places were among the possessions of the Counts of Schwarzburg. Historical significance in the place had the Fuhrmann Commercial and weaving, and later the Olitäten and glassware trade. The places Dröbischau and Egelsdorf were united in 1952 to the municipality Dröbischau and from the mid-1950s on holiday and recreation facilities.

Economy and Transport

In the Dröbischauer There are mainly livestock (cattle, sheep and goats used to be ). Furthermore, there is in place tourism, but most residents are commuters who drive to work especially after Königsee Rottenbach.

Roads connect the village with Königsee Rottenbach in the north, Melle -Glasbach in the south and upper grove in the east.
