Pheasant Cuckoo ( Dromococcyx phasianellus )
Dromococcyx is a genus of the subfamily of Erdkuckucke in the family of cuckoos.
Incidence and characteristics
Representatives of the genus Dromococcyx live in the Neotropics in wooded areas. The plumage is brown in color. Remarkable are the large tail feathers and plumage of the deck, which extends to the tips of the tail feathers. Both species also have a hood. The Cuckoos move mostly on the ground, after which the name refers Dromococcyx, composed of the Greek words for race ( dromos ) and Cuckoo ( kokyx ). Both species are brood parasites.

The genus includes two species. The sister taxon is the genus Tapera. The German name followed by Avibase.
