The Dropt in Eymet

The Dropt is a river in France, which runs in the region of Aquitaine. It rises in the municipality of Capdrot, east of Monpazier, drained generally in a westerly direction and leads after 132 miles at Caudrot as a right tributary of the Garonne. At Casseuil A puncture with lock already connects the Dropt with the Garonne. The Dropt drains the majority of lying between the rivers Dordogne and Garonne landmass. At various points the Dropt forms the border between the departments of Gironde and Lot- et- Garonne, and the departments of Dordogne and Lot -et -Garonne.

On the banks of the river and its tributaries are numerous water mills, most of which are under monument protection.
