Dror Elimelech

Dror Elimelech ( b. 1956 ) is an Israeli composer and lyricist.

The trained psychiatrist and psychotherapist studied piano with Pnina Salzman, Ruth Hilman and Bart Berman and composition with Sergiu Natra. He came forward with experimental and avant-garde music and composed works for solo instruments, chamber music, vocal works, and works for electro-acoustic instruments and live electronics. Among other things, he set to music poems by Yona Wallach, Maya Bejerano, David Avidan, Paul Celan and Arthur Rimbaud. He founded and organized the concert series Other Israeli Music and the Forum Night Happening for experimental music. He also published several volumes of poetry and won the 2002 Prize of the Israeli Prime Minister. He is a member of the Hebrew Writers 'Association and the Israel Composers' Union.
