Druse (geology)

As a geode is called an incompletely filled with crystal accumulations of various kinds former cavity ( Geode ) in the rock. Complete with mineral substance filled cavities called contrast Mandel. The often used interchangeably, though misleading terms used are encountered mainly in connection with the description of agates.

The term geode is derived from the Old High German word Druos, which means as much as gland or bump.

A similar form filled rock cavities are the so-called head snow balls.

One of the most famous sites of Amethyst is the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul. Here were Druze and be of a size of up to two meters repeatedly found. In Germany you can find drusen, for example in the area around Idar -Oberstein or in the Erzgebirge. But these are rarely approached the size and quality of Brazilian Druze.

Formation
